Sonam Kapoor Bags an International Project
Famous Director Jagmohan Mundra has cast Sonam Kapoor for his next film. Reportedly, the director, known for directing hard-hitting social awareness films, casts Sonam for a film titled “Baanj”. The story of the film has been written by Naresh Chandra, 15 years ago. But the film was unable to conceive due to some problem. The screenplay of the original was written by one of India’s most influential playwrights, the late Vijay Tendulkar. The story is about a woman who feels she has a problem conceiving when it is actually the husband who is impotent. She eventually falls in love with another man and gets intimate with him to get pregnant. The climax gives rise to a number of irreparable consequences which shape the root of the story.
The director confirmed the news to media, “I want someone who can fit in as a college girl, a wife as well as pull off the role of a battered woman with equal ease. Sonam’s name is the first one to come to mind. I hope she agrees to do the project, because she will be an asset to the movie”.A source to the director added, “Jag is fascinated by Sonam’s ability to mould herself into a role and transform into two different types of characters with ease. He loved her performance in Delhi 6 and feels she’ll play the role of an innocent college girl transforming into a woman scorned with ease”.
The director earlier has worked with Aishwarya Rai Bachhan in “Provoked” and also with Naseerudin Shah in “Shoot on Sight”.
