Ameesha Patel Is Concerned Very Much For Her Forthcoming Films

Now that she is turning producer by making a film each with Priyadarshan and David Dhawan, she is sure that entertainment would be the key word for these productions as well. She also reaffirms that none of her newer ventures would be frivolous by any means.

“Films that I am making with David (Dhawan) and Priyan would boast of a certain standard; there would be an educated class to it. I think now is the best opportunity for me to fuse my education and upbringing. Also, there would be good budget set aside for both these films. If I am getting into the production arena, it better be a classy and grand affair; there won’t be any cutting corners here,” says Ameesha.
While it is believed that both her films would be reasonably expensive affairs, Ameesha states that there is no hard and bound rule that she has set for herself for the future projects that she would undertake

However, not the one to take down criticisms so easily, Veena Malik took the mullahs to task and even said that if she were in the wrong, so was Abdul Kawi because Islam doesn’t permit a man to cast a second look at a woman who isn’t his relative.

“One can be punished for looking at a woman a second time, you should be punished,” Malik told the Mufti on Express News’ Frontline show.

Malik defines her experience in the show as a “beautiful, terrible, exciting, emotional, sad” journey and said, “I belong to the entertainment industry and I went with my agenda. I wanted to show the world that there are other types of Pakistanis too, not just those who are in the news for terror acts.”

She defended her behavior and clothes saying, “It isn’t a religious show either. The format of the show is to get people from various walks of life under one roof… I was contacted for my bravery. I wasn’t even representing office-going women of Pakistan. I was a Pakistani from the entertainment industry. I wore only clothes that I have worn in Pakistan before. I was representing myself… and I am like this only.”

Malik said the Pakistani media had been unfair to her by not highlighting the positives such as when she was complimented by Salman Khan and not coming to her rescue when she was abused on Bigg Boss. Neha credits the director of Maharathi, Shivam Nair, for coming up with a good product. She says, “Shivam is a calm and amiable person with a lot of clarity in his thought which reflects in the film. I had liked his first film Ahista Ahista and had always wanted to work with him.”
And no…Neha won’t be seen breaking into a dance number out of nowhere like usual Bollywood films. “I have no songs or dances in the film. It is a very serious character. I want to do all kinds of roles and play different characters,” says she. So, ‘different’ seems to be word the actress is living by to steer off her brazen image.
Her forthcoming films (and a long list at that) will have her playing roles as different as chalk and cheese too. “I’m doing Raat Gayi Baat Gayi with Rajat Kapoor, which has been written by Saurabh Shukla. I have an interesting role in Raftaar opposite Emraan Hashmi where I play the owner of a news channel

. I am also starting work in a Priyadarshan film called De Dhana Dhan in which I play a con girl and is an out and out comedy. Then I also have a film with Vinay Pathak called Papu Can’t Dance Saala,” counts off Neha.
So that means no wedding bells (with longstanding boyfriend and squash champion Ritwik Bhattacharya) ringing in the near future? “I have no plans of marriage yet. But we share a fabulous relationship and we are not answerable to anyone,” is her crisp reply.
